Utah-based Primo Golf Apparel takes advantage of new college NIL rules, partners with BYU senior Carson Lundell

The Name, Image and Likeness era of college athletics is off and running this fall, and while most of the big deals are in the Power 5 conferences with sports like football and basketball, college golfers are profiting as well.

On Friday Primo Golf Apparel, based in Utah, announced a partnership with BYU senior Carson Lundell for his final year of college golf. Lundell will create content with Primo and also rock their gear in competition.

Primo Golf is a rising golf apparel company that focuses on designing clothing for athletic players, and is best known for selling their golf jogger.

“I’m excited to join Team Primo and to have the opportunity to wear their gear while I compete,” said Lundell. “I’ve been extremely impressed with their joggers and shorts and how they are able to bridge the gap between comfort and style. I’m looking forward to working with them and continuing to elevate my game together.”

“Partnering with Carson is a great move for us because he perfectly embodies our audience and customer base,” said Primo co-founder Matty Gay. “Carson’s accomplishments speak for themselves and we can’t wait to see his continued success on the golf course.”

Lundell is currently No. 90 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking and was first-team all conference and an honorable mention All-American last year for the Cougars with one win, two playoff losses and five top-5 finishes.

“We understand that creating engaging social media content is a critical way to set ourselves apart,” continued Gay. “We believe that our golf-obsessed audience will be interested in getting an insight on the game from one of the top college golfers in the country.”
