Scottie Scheffler switched to the new TaylorMade Qi4D driver two weeks ago, and the World No. 1 has now tripled his win total on the season and grabbed another FedEx Cup title.
Scheffler won in Memphis with the Qi4D driver two weeks ago and then came from behind on Sunday to sprint past Viktor Hovland to win the Tour Championship and FedEx Cup. With the win at East Lake, Scheffler finishes the 2026 FedEx Cup season with three wins and now has 22 for his career.
The most notable club in Scheffler’s bag is still his new TaylorMade Qi4D driver, which he added in Memphis. The FedEx St. Jude was the third time Scheffler had tried to retire his Qi10 gamer for the new Qi4D, but this was the first time he finally got it to stick.
At the BMW Championship last week, Scheffler said his Qi10 gamer was getting close to the USGA CT limit and that the Qi4D had been vetted as his backup earlier.
“I felt like my driver was going to get close to where, if it got tested again, it was going to get close to failing,” he said in St. Louis. “It had been in my bag for a long time, so I felt I needed to make sure the backup was in a good spot. The backup I was using was the Qi4D, and I just put it in the bag a few times last week when I was playing at home … I liked what I saw, and so I figured I’d give it the old college try in Memphis and, yeah, it seemed to work out pretty well.”
For the week, Scheffler gained more than a shot off the tee, finishing 11th in the field, on his way to his second FedEx Cup title, joining Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy as the only multi-time winners.
Scheffler’s Qi4D driver has a unique blue face that helps it look more like the old Qi10 he liked so much. Scheffler is hardly the only player on TaylorMade’s staff using a custom face optic. TaylorMade’s carbon wood technology allows them to build drivers with several different face options to match what the player prefers.
What is unique to Scheffler’s driver is a glossy crown. While all other Qi4Ds have a matte finish, Scheffler’s is reflective, which we can only assume is, again, a strong preference of his, given the Qi10 was TaylorMade’s last glossy crown driver and Scheffler never switched to last year’s Qi35.
The rest of his setup has remained largely unchanged through most of his 22 PGA Tour wins. He led the field this week in Strokes Gained: Approach with his TaylorMade P7TW irons, which he has used for each one of his professional victories.
After his win in Memphis, Scheffler swapped his 3-iron for his Qi4D 7-wood, a club he used in January to win the American Express.

Titleist Vokey SM8 (50.12F @ 51˚, 56.14F @ 55˚), SM9 (60-04T),
Shafts: True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue S400
For every shot, every lie, every course, there’s a grind fit for your swing. Finding the right grind to match your swing and playing conditions will give you the best turf interaction, contact and shot performance. Master Craftsman Bob Vokey has spent decades crafting, developing and improving his tour proven grinds to fit players of all levels.Anyone can manufacture a wedge, but it takes a master to turn a piece of high-performance technology into an instrument of creative control. Bob’s six tour-proven grinds are designed to offer maximum creativity, versatility and consistency, all meticulously developed through years of working with the best players in the world. PROGRESSIVE CENTER OF GRAVITY SM9 features a progressive center of gravity (CG) throughout the lofts, which optimizes ball flight, accuracy and forgiveness. Using tapered top lines and varied hosel lengths, the Vokey R&D team has raised the height of the CG in the higher lofts, which promotes a lower, more controlled flight. The CG is also forward of the face, resulting in increased MOI, exceptional feel and a club face that simply wants to square up at impact. SPIN MILLED GROOVES SM9’s patented Spin Milled grooves are meticulously engineered through a new cutting process to maximize spin and durability. The process starts by cutting the face perfectly flat with a high-speed saw. Then every groove is individually cut based on loft and finish; low lofts (46°-54°) are designed with narrower, deeper grooves, while higher lofts (56°-62°) have wider, shallower grooves.Micro-grooves are individually cut in between grooves, which maximize spin on partial shots. A proprietary heat treatment is applied to the impact area which doubles the durability of the groove without impacting feel, making it the most durable groove in golf. The process is only complete when every Vokey wedge is 100% inspected for utmost quality and performance.
