Tony Finau has had a career full of almosts. It seems like nearly every week he’s on the front page of the leaderboard heading into Sunday but just can’t quite get it done.
Despite being the bridesmaid and almost never the bride, Finau has endeared himself to golf fans around the world. Affectionately referred to as Big Tone, Finau is the gentle giant of the PGA Tour. Standing 6-foot-4, Finau has a smile that lights up not just a room, but the entire golf course.
Going nearly 2,000 days between Tour victories, Finau was back in the winner’s circle at the 2021 Northern Trust Open. Add in top five finishes in all four majors, two Ryder Cup appearances, and a Presidents Cup appearance, and Finau is living quite the charmed golf life.
