Are you working this weekend?
Viktor Hovland is. So are 71 of his colleagues.
But don’t feel bad for them. What they’ll miss in leisure they’ll more than make up for in lucre. They’re playing in the Travelers Championship, the final signature event of the 2026 PGA Tour season, with a total purse of $20 million.
There is no cut. The guy who winds up dead last will take home $36,000. The winner will walk off with 100 times that much: $3.6 million goes to the champion.
Heading into Sunday’s final round, Hovland is in the pole position at 20-under for the week, one stroke clear of World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler. Patrick Cantlay and Akshay Bhatia are tied for third, five off the pace.
Scheffler and Hovland will punch in for work together at 2 p.m. local time, when they tee off in the final pairing. Some five hours later, no matter how they finish, they’ll receive a healthy payout for their efforts. The rest of the field won’t be deprived either, as you can see below, where we break down the entire purse for the 2026 Travelers Championship.
