How to watch the Travelers Championship on Sunday
A week after Norwegian soccer fans went viral for rowing, Viking-like, up an escalator in Boston, a Norwegian golfer is putting on his own show in Connecticut.
Paired with Scottie Scheffler on Saturday at TPC River Highlands, Viktor Hovland out-birdied the World No. 1 in the third round of the Travelers Championship, carding a six-under 64 to take a one shot lead into Sunday’s finale. Hovland is at 20-under for the week. Scheffler, following a third-round 67, is right behind him, with Patrick Cantlay and Akshay Bhatia tied for third, five shots off Hovland’s pace.
Hovland hasn’t won since last year’s Valspar Championship, but he has two top 10s in 2026 and has shown flashes of fine form this season, intermingled with disappointments, including missed cuts in both the PGA Championship and the U.S. Open. Famously inquisitive about the swing, and seemingly forever tinkering with his mechanics, Hovland said that he has been focusing on process this week at the Travelers, sticking to his routine, envisioning shots and trying to execute without worrying about results. It’s been working
“It was really fun. Just had a great time. You know, it’s been a while since I’ve been in this position,” Hovland said of his Saturday showing. “To go head-to-head against the best player in the world and pull off some great shots, it was just a lot of fun.”
He has a chance to do it again today. He and Scheffler tee off in the final pairing at 2.55 p.m. ET.
