2026 Travelers Championship money: Here’s how much every player made

One week ago, Scottie Scheffler’s first dance with immortality came up short at the U.S. Open. But the World No. 1 didn’t dwell on his missed opportunity. Instead, he arrived at TPC River Highlands and quickly put the pedal down at the Travelers Championship.

Scheffler flirted with a 59 on Friday as he jumped out to a two-shot lead over Viktor Hovland in Cromwell, Conn. Scheffler and Hovland traded blows on Saturday, with the Norwegian finishing the third round with a birdie to take a one-shot lead over Scheffler into Sunday’s final round.

Hovland, who hasn’t won since last year’s Valspar Championship, has been battling his swing for the better part of two years as he works to find the desired swing feel. This week at the Travelers, Hovland said he was hitting the types of shots he wants, which gives him confidence that the work he has been putting in is finally taking hold.

All that led to Sunday’s showdown with Scheffler, giving Hovland and his work-in-progress swing a true test under pressure.

Hovland and Scheffler went back and forth all day Sunday with Scheffler holding a two-shot lead through 13 holes when play was stopped due to rain and lightning. When play resumed, Hovland made birdies at 14 and 15 to tie Scheffler.

As darkness descended on TPC River Highlands, Scheffler made clutch par putts at 17 and 18 to send the Travelers Championship to a Monday playoff.

In the playoff, both players set up short birdie putts. After Hovland drained his, Scheffler missed his own try, handing Hovland the title and the winner’s prize.
