For the first time ever, the opening day of the Solheim Cup saw a pair of 2-2 session ties. We’re heading to Saturday deadlocked at 4-4 with lots of golf still left to be played. Here’s what you need to know.
How to watch the Solheim Cup Saturday
After a 2-2 tie in the morning session, Europe’s Carlota Ciganda finished the day’s action by making a clutch 15-footer to halve the 18th hole in the final four-ball match of the day. That also halved the match and made it 4-4 heading into the weekend.
It’s just the second time in Solheim Cup history the teams are tied after Day 1.
“I think not losing today is important,” Ciganda said. “I think obviously that half a point, it’s 4-4 for the day, so that’s usually big momentum going into tomorrow.”
