After two impressive bogey-free rounds, Lucas Glover sits atop the leaderboard at 14-under-par, holding a narrow two-stroke lead heading into the weekend. Leading at this event is familiar territory for Glover, who captured the title in 2021.
While competitors remain within striking distance, the veteran’s experience could prove invaluable over the final 36 holes. Having spent more than two decades competing at the highest level, Glover appears unfazed by the pressure of protecting a lead.
“I mean, this is my 23rd year,” he said in a press conference after Friday’s round. “There’s nothing I hadn’t been there, done that, to be fair. I’ve played in the last groups and played great, and I’ve played in the last groups and played terrible.”
Despite his calm demeanor, Glover plans to maintain an aggressive approach this weekend.
“There’s no formula other than hydrate and rest and keep the pedal down this week, because it’s not going to be able to hang on,” he said. “There’s going to be birdies and eagles. It’s going to be fun.”
Just two strokes back at 12-under par is Lee Hodges, who sits solo in second and is looking to capture his second PGA Tour title. And one shot behind him is Zac Blair at 11-under, who’s chasing his first Tour victory.
At 10-under, a group of six players — Jackson Suber, Tyler Duncan, Troy Merritt, David Lipsky, Ryo Hisatsune and Ben Kohles — are tied for fourth. Among them, four are still seeking their first PGA Tour win: Suber, Lipsky, Hisatsune and Kohles.
Glover, Hodges and Blair will tee off at 12:35 P.M. (ET).
