How to watch BMW Championship on Thursday
Only the top 50 players in the FedEx Cup standings will tee it up on Thursday at the BMW Championship. But by next Thursday at the Tour Championship, that number will have been slashed to 30.
World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is not among those who have to worry about making the finale at East Lake. The yearlong FedEx Cup leader further cemented his position with a big victory at last week’s FedEx St. Jude Championship.
The 2026 FedEx Cup bonuses will be distributed at the end of the BMW, and Scheffler has been so good this year that no one can top him for the enormous first-place prize of $23 million.
But that won’t stop Scheffler from trying his best to defend his 2025 BMW title and secure PGA Tour win No. 22 this week.
You can watch the first round of the BMW Championship on TV via Golf Channel and ESPN, with ESPN opening the coverage at 10 a.m. ET on Thursday, followed by Golf Channel at 3 p.m. ET. PGA Tour Live on ESPN+ will provide exclusive early streaming coverage starting at 9:15 a.m. ET, as well as featured group and featured hole coverage. In addition, ESPN+ will offer a “Marquee Group: Quiet Please” stream featuring no announcers. The Golf Channel App will carry a simulcast of Golf Channel’s Thursday TV coverage.
