Whether Shane Lowry wins or not at Augusta National Golf Club this week, and chances are he won’t, he will be going home with something.
Lowry eagled the par-4 Hole 14 at Augusta National on Saturday, earning a pair of crystal highball glasses for the accomplishment. Lowry nailed a long-range shot from 114 yards for the eagle.
The 37-year-old Irish golfer, in his ninth Masters appearance, reduced his total score from 6 over par to 4 over with the shot. His previous best finish at Augusta came at the 2022 Masters, when he finished tied for third with a 72-hole aggregate of 5 under 283.

After his round on Friday, Lowry said he was still hoping to wiggle his way into contention by Sunday.
“You go out there and try and break 70 and try to have the best week you possibly can. You look at it from here, I have 27 holes to get myself into position to maybe make a run at it on Sunday,” he said. “You never know what’s going to happen. You see someone shoot 7-under the first day, you automatically think it’s going to be in the teens winning, but not around here. So we’ll see what happens over the next two days.
“Stranger things have happened around here, and mad stuff has happened.”
