Tiger Woods tells SkySports he will play 150th Open Championship at St. Andrews; will try to play PGA Championship at Southern Hills

AUGUSTA, Ga. — After completing his comeback this week at the 86th Masters, Tiger Woods announced when we’ll be seeing him again at least once later this summer.

According to host Cara Banks, the 15-time major champion told SkySports that he will tee it up later this summer at St. Andrews in the 150th playing of the Open Championship, July 14-17. Woods also said he’s unsure about the PGA Championship at Southern Hills in Tulsa, Oklahoma, May 19–22, where he won in 2007, but said he will try.

Woods won two Opens at St. Andrews in 2000 and 2005, completing the career Grand Slam at the 2000 Open.

“I won’t be playing a full schedule ever again, and so it’ll be just the big events. I don’t know if I’ll be able to play Southern Hills or not, but I am looking forward to St. Andrews,” said Woods. “And so that is something that is near and dear to my heart. I’ve won two Opens there, it’s the Home of Golf and it’s my favorite golf course in the world. So I will be there for that one. But anything in between that, I don’t know.”

He continued: “I will try, there’s no doubt, this week I will try and get ready for Southern Hills and we’ll see what this body is able to do.”

On Sunday afternoon he wrapped up play at the Masters, finishing at 13-over following two career-worst rounds of 6-over 78 at Augusta National Golf Club.
