Only six golfers have ever done it. It’s only happened 11 times at all on the PGA Tour. Tiger Woods has done it six of those times. On two of those occasions, Woods won the same tournament four years in a row.
Three in a row, however, hasn’t happened in 12 years, not since the 2011 John Deere Classic.
The list of PGA Tour golfers who have won the same tournament three consecutive seasons has some big names on it, for sure. Woods, as mentioned. Jack Nicklaus was the first to do it. Many of the game’s greats never pulled off this feat, though.

Steve Stricker won the John Deere Classic in 2009, 2010 and 2011. He’s the last PGA Tour golfer to win the same event three years in a row.
Tiger Woods won the Buick Invitational four times in a row: 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008. Woods didn’t get a chance to five-peat because he missed the 2009 tournament recovering from knee surgery.
From 2005 to 2007, Tiger Woods won the World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational.
Tiger Woods dominated the WGC’s and won the World Golf Championships-CA Championship in 2005, 2006 and 2007.
Stuart Appleby won three straight at the Mercedes Championship in Hawaii in 2004, 2005 and 2006, becoming the first player in five decades to capture the winners-only gathering three consecutive years.
Another event that Tiger Woods won four straight times was the Bay Hill Invitational – now called the Arnold Palmer Invitational – doing so in 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2003.
Woods famously has eight victories in all at Bay Hill but in 2004, in his bid to win this tournament for a fifth time in a row, Woods tied for 46th. In fact, the 2004 Bay Hill marked the first time in a PGA Tour event that Woods shot over par three days in a row.
Tiger Woods won 18 WGC events in all, including three in a row – 1999, 2000, 2001 – at the World Golf Championships-NEC Invitational at Firestone Country Club, one of Tiger’s biggest hunting grounds.
Tiger Woods won three in a row at Jack’s Place, Muirfield Village from 1999 to 2001 at the Memorial Tournament.
In 1980, Tom Watson became the third PGA Tour golfer to win the same tournament three years in a row at Byron Nelson Golf Classic.
Johnny Miller won the Tucson Open three years in a row: 1974, 1975, 1976. The tournament was called the Dean Martin Tucson Open the first two years and then it was the NBC Tucson Open. He won the event a fourth time in 1981 when it had yet another name, the Joe Garagiola Tucson Open.
On many of the lists of firsts on the PGA Tour, Jack Nicklaus was the first to win the same event three years in a row, claiming the Walt Disney World Golf Classic in 1971, 1972 and 1973.
