The Women’s Golf Coaches Association has released the results of the 2022-23 preseason Mizuno WGCA Coaches Poll.
Picking up right where they left off, the Stanford Cardinal, defending champions of the NCAA Women’s Golf Championship, are the unanimous selection at the top of the poll. Stanford received all 22 first-place votes.
Wake Forest will start the season in the No. 2 spot. Last year’s NCAA runner-up Oregon is No. 3. South Carolina will start No. 4 and UCLA in the No. 5 gives the Pac-12 three of the top-five teams to start the season.
With No. 7 Arizona State, No. 12 USC and No. 23 Arizona, the Pac-12 has six ranked teams in all.
The SEC meanwhile, has nine ranked teams in the preseason poll, highlighted by the Gamecocks at No. 4.

The Women’s Golf Coaches Association, founded in 1983, is a non-profit organization representing women’s collegiate golf coaches. The WGCA was formed to encourage the playing of college golf for women in correlation with a general objective of education and in accordance with the highest tradition of intercollegiate competition. Today, the WGCA represents over 650 coaches throughout the U.S. and is dedicated to educating, promoting and recognizing both its members and the student-athletes they represent.
