So you want to play the Old Course at St. Andrews? Who doesn’t, right? Luckily for you and everyone else in the world, it’s open to the public, so you can snag a tee time just as easily as Tiger Woods (well, maybe not that easily).

Tee times are still tough to come by, but if you plan ahead — or are patient enough to wait it out overnight — you’ll be handsomely rewarded by hitting your ball around one of the most iconic golf courses in the world and the true home of golf.

On Sundays, The Old Course at St. Andrews becomes a dog park

GOLF recently released its inaugural Top 100 Courses in the UK and Ireland ranking, and the Old Course headlined the list. The Old Course also ranks as GOLF’s third-best course in the world, behind only Uber-private Pine Valley and Cypress Point.

The cost to play the Old Course isn’t outrageous, either. Peak rates for 2022 (April 18 to Oct. 16) are £270 — roughly $320 — but they drop substantially during the shoulder season (Oct. 17-31) to £190 and even less during the low season (Nov. 1 to March 31) to £135.

You can click here to read more about the rates, which includes greens fees for St. Andrews’ other six courses. And to learn more about how you can play the Old Course, click here. And if you still can’t get on the Old Course, make sure to visit on Sundays, when it’s open as a public park.
