David Feherty is leaving NBC Sports to become an analyst for LIV Golf, according to a report from the New York Post.
Per The Post, Feherty will be an analyst for eight to 10 LIV Golf broadcasts each season. He will join former Golf Channel analyst Jerry Foltz and former NBC soccer play-by-play man Arlo White on the LIV broadcast team.
Feherty has long been one of the most popular golf broadcasters in the sport during his over two-decade career in the business. He has worked for NBC Sports since 2015, and before that was an analyst for CBS’ golf coverage.
According to The Post, NBC declined to comment on the departure, and Feherty did not immediately return their message.
Last week, TNT’s Charles Barkley said on The Next Round podcast that he was “gonna 100 percent meet with LIV” to discuss potential opportunities.
“I’m gonna meet with LIV,” Barkley said. “To be always transparent and honest, they called me and asked me if I’d meet with them. I said yes. Nothing’s imminent. I actually don’t know everything they want from me or what they technically want me to do. But you have to always look at every opportunity that’s available.”
The next LIV Golf event is schedule for July 29-31 at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, N.J.
