QBE Shootout final round preview

After two rounds of play, we’ve reached the final round of the 2021 QBE Shootout from Tiburon Golf Club in Naples, Fla.

The annual team-style event has not come without its headlines. The event, which is hosted by Greg Norman, marked the first time the CEO of Saudi Arabian-backed LIV Golf Investments faced media since announcing his partnership with the backers of the PGA Tour’s rumored rival tour. Of course, this weekend’s event is hosted by the PGA Tour, which brings an added wrinkle of spice to the action.

On the course, the tournament has provided plenty of action, including a variety of team formats. Through two days at the QBE, teams have competed in a scramble and a modified alternate shot format, and on Sunday, each team will participate in fourball, helping to round things out.

Through two rounds, the Australian tandem of Marc Leishman and Jason Day (-24) leads by three strokes over the remainder of the field. They’re trailed closely by the teams of Billy Horschel and Sam Burns and Harris English and Matt Kuchar (-21), who look to mount comebacks on Sunday. Further back, the Twitter tandem of Kevin Kisner and Max Homa has work to do on Sunday.
