After a long, grueling stretch with no PGA Tour golf (11 days), the boys are back this week for the Fortinet Championship being played at Silverado Resort and Spa in Napa, California.
Jon Rahm is the only Ryder Cup player, from either team, in the field. He did have to withdraw from the pro-am early in the week due to a stomach virus, but did tee it up Thursday.
The only other player headed to Whistling Straits next week that’s in this field, Phil Mickelson. He will serve as a vice captain for Steve Stricker.
Stewart Cink, who won this event last year (known as the Safeway Open), is not in the field this week. He had better things to do, including attending his son’s wedding.
