PGA Tour, LIV pros share Thanksgiving messages, memes across social media

A sample of posts from pro golfers on Thanksgiving Day.

X

Not long ago, it was standard practice for waves of PGA Tour and LIV pros to post social media greetings on every major holiday.

Times and social media habits have changed, and since the PGA Tour and the PIF are still locked in secret negotiations, there’s no final agreement ending the war over pro golf to be grateful for yet.

But Thanksgiving proved to be inspiration enough to get a host of pro golfers to share with the world what they are thankful for.

Scroll down to see some of the highlights.

Max Homa

PGA Tour star and U.S. Ryder Cup team member Max Homa shared a simple, Christmas card-style photo of with his wife, Lacey, and their young son, Cam, along with the message, “I’m a lucky guy. Happy Thanksgiving!”

Bubba Watson

Two-time Masters champion and current LIV pro Bubba Watson celebrated Thanksgiving with his family at Pensacola Country Club in Florida, writing on X, “Thanksgiving with friends and family with the Watson’s at @pensacolacountryclub”

Steve Stricker

Victorious 2021 U.S. Ryder Cup captain and 12-time PGA Tour winner Steve Stricker shared two photos of he and his family celebrating Thanksgiving, along with a heartfelt note: “So much to be thankful for!! Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! Hope you have a great day with your family and friends.”

Sergio Garcia

LIV pro and former Masters champion Sergio Garcia went a different route, sharing a photoshopped image of him serving his Fireballs GC team a traditional Thanksgiving feast, writing, “Wishing everyone a very happy thanksgiving. A lot to be grateful for this year.”

Talor Gooch

It appears LIV pro Talor Gooch, who hails from Oklahoma, may have spent this year’s Thanksgiving in Paris, France, unless the photo he shared of his wife, Ally, and their young daughter staring up at the Eiffel Tower is an old one. Gooch wrote on X, “Grateful for an incredible year with my family and more blessings to come. Happy Thanksgiving!”

Smylie Kaufman (and Justin Thomas)

PGA Tour winner-turned NBC/GOLF Channel TV man Smylie Kaufman didn’t exactly share a Thanksgiving greeting, but he was clearly watching Dolly Parton’s halftime show at the Dallas Cowboys-Washington Commanders game on Thanksgiving Day, as evidenced by the memes he shared, one of which Justin Thomas felt the need to re-share.
