How to watch The Match on TV: Lexi Thompson, Rose Zhang, Rory McIlroy and Max Homa

The golf calendar has turned to its Florida swing, and before the Cognizant Classic gets underway (sorry fans, no Tiger or Charlie Woods) there’s another match ahead.

It’s The Match, the made-for-TV charity event that started Thanksgiving weekend 2018. It’s seen golf legends face each other, stars from other sports square off and pairings from both groups. This year’s event will take place at The Park West Palm, and it will feature a first for the event: a 12-hole mixed skins match featuring two top male golfers and two stars from the LPGA Tour.

Rory McIlroy — a resident of nearby Jupiter and the world No. 2 — and world No. 8 Max Homa will be joined by Lexi Thompson and Rose Zhang. Thompson, a Delray Beach resident, is an 11-time LPGA Tour winner who nearly made the cut at the PGA Tour’s Shriners Children’s Open in October. Zhang is a rising star in women’s golf; the 20-year-old won back-to-back NCAA championships at Stanford and won her pro debut in June.

The Match will take place in prime time with all four participants using the same tees on the par-3s and varying tee boxes for the other eight holes.
