Scottie Scheffler entered last year’s FedEx Cup Playoffs in the No. 1 position, but in the end got edged out by Rory McIlroy, who took home his third Cup title.
This year, Scheffler is in second place heading into the playoff-opening FedEx St. Jude Championship and hoping to improve on last year and finally get a FedEx Cup on his trophy shelf.
He’ll play Thursday’s first round alongside defending champion McIlroy and the player in pole position in the standings: Jon Rahm.
