It’s the final World Golf Championships event of the 2020-21 PGA Tour “super season”.
And it ended in thrilling fashion, as Abraham Ancer outlasted Sam Burns and Hideki Matsuyama in a playoff at TPC Southwind in Memphis.
It was Ancer’s first win on the PGA Tour and brings with it a first-place prize of $1,820,000 as well as 550 FedEx Cup points.
“Golf is crazy,” Ancer said. “It’s surreal. Something that I’ve been working for since I was a little kid. Definitely a dream, a dream come true to win on the PGA Tour, and to do it on a big stage like a WGC event was really, really cool, man.”
