HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. — If you didn’t get a Masters garden gnome and don’t want to take out a second mortgage to buy one on eBay, you’re in luck: the RBC Heritage is selling its own version of the popular golf gnome ($55).
As the saying goes, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Just as at the Masters, these items are expected to fly off the shelves so customers are limited to purchasing a max of two. (The secondary market for the RBC version may not be as lucrative as the Masters garden gnome, which has been fetching low four figures, which is absolutely insane.)
Overall, the RBC merchandise shop earns high marks. There is a great mix of brands and multiple logos — from the iconic lighthouse to Sir Willie, the tournament mascot in his red cloak, white knickers, black-brimmed hat and a wooden-shafted club leaning on his shoulder. The T-shirt game is particularly strong and if you’re looking for something in the tournament’s signature tartan, this is the place for you. It’s all very well thought out and spread out in a manner that men, women and kids each had plenty of options. Few tournaments outside the majors do this as well and certainly not in the smaller floor space available at the Heritage.
Here’s a closer look at some of the gear on sale this week at the 2024 RBC Heritage.
