After withdrawing from the pro-am on Wednesday, Jon Rahm tee’d it up Thursday morning and shot a very pedestrian even-par round of 72. He did admit to not feeling great, but should feel better Friday.
Phil Mickelson played well Thursday morning, making four birdies and two bogeys for a solid 2-under 70. Once his week is over, he’ll be heading to Whistling Straits for the Ryder Cup where he’ll be a vice captain.
After his first round, Kevin Na said he was disappointed not to be picked for the Ryder Cup team. “I think it would have been great if I played for the team. I think I could have really brought some good energy and I could’ve really contributed.”
Going into Friday morning, Chez Reavie holds a one-shot lead over Cameron Tringale and Adam Hadwin.
