FIRST LOOK: Cobra LTDx Black drivers and King Cobra Black wedges

Cobra’s limited-edition LTDx Black driver and King Cobra Black wedges.

Cobra

In our most recent ClubTest, the Cobra LTDx drivers were widely praised for being exceptionally long and forgiving. Stuff like PWR-COR tech, which places weight low and forward for faster ballspeeds, and the H.O.T. face design that employs variable face thicknesses for more hittable points on the clubface were winners in our book. The LTDx also comes with a mixed material construction, with ample amounts of carbon and a lighter titanium chassis for improved weighting and stability.

The only problem, if you want to even call it that, is that the LTDx didn’t come in an all-black model. Cobra listened to those of you who want an edgier look, and the LTDx is now available in an all-black color scheme with a touch of gray and a matte black crown and sole. If Batman had a driver, no doubt it’d look just like this.

You can get the dark side LTDx Black drivers ($599) in three models: The LTDx LS is a low-spin model designed for faster swing speeds with maximum workability and a traditional shape.

Adjustable weights are positioned in the heel and toe to help dial in directional trajectory for better players. Next is the LTDx MAX, combining maximum stability and maximum draw bias, giving golfers the choice to move the adjustable weights to focus on either performance. Lastly, the LTDx is a blend of the LS and the MAX, with a zero CGna and 5200 MOI, creating an exceptional combination of low spin & max forgiveness.

Cobra also introduced a satin black QPQ finish on its King Cobra Black Wedge ($149). In addition to having a finish that greatly reduces glare, the Black Wedge comes with the same features in the chrome models, including Snakebite Groove Technology which has 40 percent sharper edges for added spin, progressive groove patterns and three unique grinds (Versatile, Classic, Widelow).

Both the LTDx Black drivers and the King Cobra Black Wedge are available now.
