Arnold Palmer Invitational 2024 odds, course history and picks to win

After a week in Palm Beach Gardens, the PGA Tour heads to Orlando for the second stop of the Florida Swing, the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill Club and Lodge.

The fourth signature event of the year will feature the Tour’s best players including world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, No. 2 Rory McIlroy, Max Homa, Justin Thomas, Jordan Spieth, Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele.

McIlroy, who is coming off a T-18 performance at the Cognizant Classic, has finished 13th or better at Bay Hill each of his last seven appearances. Scheffler, the 2022 API winner, is the betting favorite, however, at +650.

There will be a cut after 36 holes with the top 50 and ties (plus anyone within 10 shots of the lead) making it to the weekend.

Picks to win

2024 Cognizant Classic

Obviously not a great week — three picks missed the cut, yikes — but we were in the mix with Lowry at 35/1. Let’s have a great week in Orlando.

Eric Cole (30/1): MC

Shane Lowry (35/1): T-4

Daniel Berger (40/1): MC

Stephan Jaeger (45/1): MC

2024 WM Phoenix Open

Are the stars finally aligning for Cameron Young to grab his first Tour win?

First of all, he’s in form: T-8 (WM Phoenix Open), T-16 (Genesis Invitational) and T-4 (Cognizant Classic).

Second, he’s played well at Bay Hill in two career starts finishing T-13 in 2022 and T-10 in 2023.

It’s time, CYoung, go get one.

The Englishman has finished T-21 or better in three of his six starts this year, including last week at the Cognizant Classic.

Fitzpatrick has played tremendously at Bay Hill over the past five seasons: 2nd (2019), T-9 (2020), T-10 (2021), T-9 (2022) and T-14 (2023).

His game is built for low-scoring tournaments, so don’t be surprised if Fitzy contends in Orlando once again.

Since returning from injury, Zalatoris has worked his way back into form. After missing the cut at the Sony Open, Zalatoris has finished T-34 (American Express), T-13 (Farmers Insurance Open) and T-2 (Genesis Invitational)

Zalatoris’ game is built for tough scoring conditions and Bay Hill challenges players with major-type difficulty.

The 27-year-old’s best finish at the API is a tie for 10th in 2021 (he’s made the cut in all three career appearances).

2024 Genesis Invitational

In five starts in 2024, Day has three top-10 finishes including one in his most recent start at the Genesis Invitational (solo ninth).

On top of his win at Bay Hill in 2016, the Aussie has finished inside the top-25 five times, including a T-10 performance last season.

2024 Cognizant Classic

Knapp is putting together an early run at PGA Tour Rookie of the Year. In his last four starts he’s finished T-3 (Farmers Insurance Open), T-28 (WM Phoenix), 1st (Mexico Open) and T-4 (Cognizant Classic).

His game should fit Bay Hill perfectly, especially his off-the-tee prowess.

Let’s see if the rookie can keep it going in Florida.
