It’s the eve of the 88th edition of the Masters, and it’s about that time to submit your fantasy picks or enter the office pool, is it not? We’re here for you.
We asked the pros who they think is going to win in the latest Golfweek Masters Survey for 2024. Full disclosure: the polling was done over the course of several months, so some of these selections were made when Viktor Hovland looked like he might never lose and before Scottie Scheffler found a putter he liked and his game went next level. But suffice it to say that Justin Thomas, Cameron Young and Will Zalatoris — each of whom confidently picked themselves as the champion — haven’t changed their tune. The question was phrased with the caveat of you can’t pick yourself, but that didn’t stop them. Perhaps one of them will end up being correct.
Or will it be a Rahm repeat? Perhaps Rory completing the career Grand Slam? Scottie asserting himself as the dominant figure of the game? All great potential stories but leave it to Zach Johnson to still be pulling for the Cinderella Story. Enjoy the picks below.

Rory McIlroy. I think he finally gets it done.

Jon Rahm is going to be tough to beat there.

CY: That’s a dumb question since I’m going to win it.
GWK: Who’s going to finish second then?
CY: I don’t care.

The three names that jump to mind are Scottie Scheffler and Jon Rahm, who’ve already won, and Brooks Koepka is knocking on the door.

Augusta really suits the games of Rory [McIlroy] and [Brooks] Koepka. I hope to welcome both of them as fellow Masters champions one day.

Viktor Hovland. He’s got a good short game now, his little fade would work well at Augusta and slow the ball down.

Then nobody if I can’t say me.

Rory. I think the course suits him so well that it’s just a matter of time before he wins there.

I never bet against Bubba Watson at Augusta but I don’t even know if he’s playing golf anymore. I’m going to go with Dustin Johnson.

Justin Thomas. I think he’s on his way back and that place sets up well for him.

If you ask me two weeks before, I’ll be able to give you a good idea. I’m a big form guy. I look at the guys who are making a lot of good finishes, but that Ludvig Aberg, woo, he’s got so much game, that guy. He’s going to win the Masters. He hits it so high, has a good short game. Rory’s due but he has to be more patient on the golf course.

Jordan Spieth. I feel like he’s got a funny thing there at Augusta.

If I can’t pick myself, Jon Rahm.
