There was a time when it looked like Grewal would be at the Valspar Augusta Invitational this week with her Clemson teammates. Instead, the LPGA rookie was on the other side of the world teeing it it up at the Blue Bay LPGA with her brother on the bag.
Grewal, who was still wearing Clemson gear in China, closed with a 68 to take a share of fourth in only her second LPGA start this season. She missed the cut at the Drive On.
“It was the coolest thing ever,” said Grewal of playing in front of crowds. “In college golf you don’t get people besides your parents watching. For there to be crowds and cheering was really good, and I felt like it fed me a lot of good energy too, which was a lot fun. And having my brother on the bag is always good time so we had some good laughs out there.”
Grewal’s brother, Jordan, competed in the world championships for table tennis two weeks ago. He heads next to an Olympic qualifier.
