On Friday, Woods left the course in a golf cart after hitting his tee shot on the par-4 7th hole. The PGA Tour later reported that Woods withdrew due to illness.
Woods had an up-and-down opening round on Thursday, posting five birdies and six bogeys — and hitting one shocking shank — to sign for a round of one-over-par 72.
On Friday, Woods birdied the first hole and bogeyed the 4th and 5th holes to sit at one over on the day, and two over for the tournament, at the time of his withdrawal.
