Odyssey adds to Ai-One putter line with new Cruiser models

Odyssey is adding to its popular line of Ai-One putters with new Cruiser models. Here’s everything you need to know about them.

Odyssey Golf

Odyssey’s Ai-One putters have gotten off to a hot start in 2024 after ending 2023 with a bang, boosted by hugely successful performances at the Ryder Cup thanks to Jon Rahm putting an early prototype into play in Rome.

Another win came recently, when Wyndham Clark put a custom Jailbird Cruiser in the bag and won the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. And for those who have asked when that putter might become available — the time is now.

What is an Odyssey Cruiser?

The Odyssey Ai-One Cruiser line is built on the now-familiar AI-One platform, but with head weights and shapes designed to offer extra stability and, in some cases, slightly larger head sizes.

The line offers three putter configurations to help fit three different putting stroke types: Cruiser, for players looking for a counter-balanced style; Armlock, for those that putt with an arm-locking forward press; and Broomstick, for those that use a long-putter style.

Technology

The most important technology is the Ai-One insert, which is designed with the help of Ai to create various thicknesses to help normalize ball speeds on mishits. Although the insert is made from aluminum, it is co-molded with urethane to create a soft feel preferred by those who are familiar with the classic Odyssey White Hot insert.

Another component that plays a big role in the Cruiser line is the SL 140 and 200 shafts. Both offer a heavier weight to complement the heavier head weights, which optimizes stability through the putting stroke.
