How Max Homa’s green-reading advice will help you improve your putting

Putting, at its core, is a personal motion. There’s no one right way to do it, but there is a good and bad way to read your putts and also how you prepare to make a stroke.

In the latest episode of Tour Validated, DJ Lantz spent a few minutes on the practice green with four-time PGA Tour winner Max Homa to learn about how the No. 23-ranked player in the world lines up his putts and reads greens using the AimPoint green-reading method.

Homa succinctly explains what it means to fully commit to your intended line and how confidence can be the defining factor between good putting and great putting. You’ll also from Homa about why he switched from a blade to a mallet putter, and why he thinks bigger putterheads have grown in popularity on professional tours.
