I love mixing it with fresh strawberries and blueberries, vanilla simple syrup and club soda. Add a dash of black pepper, and Dad will be all over this like honeybees on blue agave.
Dewar’s 12-Year, $24.49
Single malt Japanese whiskey has been all the rage for years, and with good reason. But I think that blended scotch whisky gets overlooked. Dewar’s 12 is wonderful in a highball, or one of my favorite cocktails, the Rusty Nail. See recipe below.
How to make a Rusty Nail
-1 1/2 oz Dewars 12 Scotch
-.75 oz Drambuie
In a mixing glass with ice, add scotch and Drambuie, then stir until well chilled.
Strain over large ice cubes in a rocks glass.
