The 2022 PGA Championship, the second men’s major of the year, kicks off this week at Southern Hills in Tulsa, Okla. Here is our complete 2022 PGA Championship viewer’s guide for the entire tournament, including full streaming and TV schedules (tee times for Rounds 1 and 2 of the PGA will be released on Tuesday and reproduced below).
2022 PGA Championship preview
This year’s PGA was supposed to be contested at Trump Bedminster. But after the PGA took the tournament away from the New Jersey course, an old PGA favorite stepped into the void: Southern Hills. It will be the fifth PGA Championship for the Tulsa course.
The last time Southern Hills played host? Tiger Woods captured his 13th major title with a two-stroke win. The good news for Tiger fans (and golf fans in general): Tiger will be in the field this week to try for his 16th major, which will be his first start since the Masters in April and only his second tournament since his devastating car crash last February.
More surprising is who won’t be there, namely Phil Mickelson, who would be the defending champion after his historic victory in last year’s PGA at Kiawah Island, which made him the oldest major champion in history.
But that just scratches the surface of storylines heading into the week. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler will attempt to capture his second major in a row. A rejuvenated Rory McIlroy is eyeing his first major triumph in nearly eight years, and a streaking Jordan Spieth will once again attempt to complete the career grand slam.
