The 2022 Wells Fargo Championship begins this week and features a one-time stop in Maryland. Here’s everything you need to know to watch the tournament.

Wells Fargo preview

One of the stars of the 2022 Masters is returning to action this week at the Wells Fargo: Rory McIlroy. The four-time major champion finished second at Augusta in April, coming up just shy of his fifth major title.

But he has more going for him than that. McIlroy is the defending champion, having triumphed at the 2021 Wells Fargo Championship by one shot over Abraham Ancer. It was the third Wells Fargo title of his career, but there is one big difference this year: the course.

All of McIlroy’s wins have come at longtime host Quail Hollow, but this year Quail Hollow is sitting out to prepare for hosting the Presidents Cup this fall. As a result, this year’s Wells Fargo will be played at TPC Potomac in Maryland.

Coverage of the Wells Fargo Championship will be provided by Golf Channel and CBS on TV, and PGA Tour Live on ESPN+ and Paramount+ online for those who prefer to stream the tournament.
