Photos: 2022 Masters Par 3 Contest

One of the best traditions at the Masters is the Par 3 Contest.

For just a few hours, the stress of a major championship melts away and families gather around the par-3 course at Augusta National to enjoy Wednesday afternoon together.

For the first time, Rory McIlroy and Jordan Spieth will be playing in the event as dads.

The contest hasn’t been held since 2019 due to the COVID-19 pandemic but returns this year not only to the delight of the players, but the patrons.

Jack Nicklaus, the six-time Masters champion, announced he will no longer be playing.

The Par 3 Contest was weather-shortened in 2020.

Mike Weir and Mackenzie Hughes tied for first at 4-under 23. It’s the first time there were dual winners due to suspension of play since 2012.

Jason Kokrak made the lone hole-in-one when he aced the fourth hole. It’s the 101st hole-in-one in the Par 3 Contest.

Here are some of the best photos from the fun-filled afternoon at Augusta National’s short course.
