Emory women’s golf takes over top spot in Div. III Mizuno WGCA Coaches Poll


The Women’s Golf Coaches Association has released the latest Mizuno WGCA Coaches Poll for Division III. This is the second poll of the 2022 spring season.

Emory is the new No. 1 after receiving 11 first-place votes, replacing Carnegie Mellon, which got the remaining two first-place votes, in the top spot. University of Redlands jumps six spots to No. 3, while Methodist and George Fox round out the top five.

Emory won the 24-team Jekyll Island Collegiate in Jekyll Island, Georgia, earlier this week for its fifth tournament title of the season. Emory led by 33 strokes after 36 holes and went on to win by 29, setting the mark for largest margin of victory in program history. Three golfers finished in the top 10.

Emory next competes in the BSC Panthers Classic in Birmingham, Alabama, on April 11 and 12.

The Women’s Golf Coaches Association, founded in 1983, is a non-profit organization representing women’s collegiate golf coaches.
