Winter is coming for those of us in the north, where golf isn’t a year-round activity. It’s easy to get sad about the 2021 golf season coming to a close, but if you’re a glass-half-full kind of person, try looking at it as an opportunity: a chance to get fitter, and make some technical changes to your swing without having to worry about taking it to the course.
To help with that mission is GOLF Top 100 Teacher Debbie Doniger, who put out a drill that’s so easy you can do it from home, and it’ll add some turn to your swing.
All you have to do is take your setup, clasp your trail hand over the left side of your rib cage and make swings with your lead arm, as you see Debbie demonstrate below.
It’s a useful drill for golfers who tend to come over the top, or lose distance on drives by lifting their arms on the backswing, rather than creating a big, full turn. It’ll get the middle of your swing working, and send you into next season more powerful than ever.
