The Bridges Cup is set to return for its fourth playing from Oct. 5-7, bringing together 24 accomplished male mid-amateurs from five continents in a fitting reflection of the global reach of elite amateur golf.
This year’s match will be played at Trump Turnberry in Scotland and will feature five sessions of match play (two four-ball and two foursomes matches contested over the first two days, and 12 singles matches on the final day) on the King Robert the Bruce and Ailsa courses. The Ailsa course is a four-time host of the Open Championship, with an illustrious roster of winners that includes Tom Watson, Greg Norman, Nick Price and Stewart Cink.
The Bridges Cup’s 24 players form two teams — 12 players from the United States and 12 Internationals. The select roster of players was handpicked by captains Jeff Fujimoto (U.S.) and Simon Holt (Internationals) and features a mix of longtime amateurs, reinstated former professionals, championship veterans and business leaders. Half of this year’s participants are returning to the competition after competing in at least one previous edition.
The Bridges Cup was established in 2022 to create a first-class international team competition for accomplished amateurs beyond the traditional college-age pathway. The inaugural match was played at the Club at Nine Bridges on Jeju Island in South Korea, where the U.S. team won 14-12. In 2023, the competition traveled to Les Bordes in France, with the Americans defeating Team Europe, 19-11.
In 2024, the match returned to South Korea at Haesley Nine Bridges and adopted the broader Team International identity. That contest delivered the closest finish in the event’s young history. Team USA prevailed 17-15, with the outcome coming down to the final putt, on the final green, in the final match.
At Trump Turnberry, the U.S. team will be represented by Drew Kittleson, Dennis Bull, Cody Massa, Scott Anderson, John Peterson, Hoyt McGarity, Andrew Medley, Andrew Price, Drew Stoltz, Scott Strickland and DJ Lantz, under the leadership of captain Jeff Fujimoto.
Team International will be comprised of Lukas Michel of Australia; Andrew Davidson, Josh Jamieson, Gavin Dear, Angus Carrick, James White and Callum Hill, all of Scotland; Jacob Austin of England; Colm Campbell and Caolan Rafferty of Ireland; Dan Faccini of Colombia; and Jonathan Bale of Wales, under the leadership of captain Simon Holt of Scotland.
