The PGA Tour heads to historic Torrey Pines this week for the 2024 Farmers Insurance Open, and we have our long-shot money on a rising South African pro. Here’s our pick, the Farmers Insurance Open odds, betting favorites and everything else you need to know.
Farmers Insurance Open odds: Long-shot bet
For this week’s trip back to Torrey Pines, we’re picking Christiaan Bezuidenhout at +6600 as our long-shot to win.
Bezuidenhout, 29, has no victories in his PGA Tour career, which might make him a risky bet. But long shots are always risky, and here’s why we think he’ll punch above his weight.
Bezuidenhout had just one top-10 finish in 2023, but in nearly 30 starts he only missed the cut eight times. He eventually finished last season 109th in the FedEx Cup and kept his Tour card.
But Bezuidenhout’s 2024 campaign started off with a bang at last week’s American Express, where he fired a final-round 65 to finish second, one shot short of winner Nick Dunlap.
If you bet $10 on Bezuidenhout to win and he pulls off the victory, you’ll earn $660. For insurance, consider placing additional small bets on Bezuidenhout to finish top 10 and top 20.
Looking for more long-shot bets for the Farmers Insurance Open? Our honorable mentions this week are Keith Mitchell (+6600) and Luke List (+6600).
