Previewing Round 2
After the first round at Bay Hill, a familiar face sits atop the leaderboard. Irish pro Shane Lowry, who won the 2019 Open Championship at Royal Portrush, stormed into the lead with a six-under 66 on Thursday.
The stellar opening salvo gave Lowry a one-shot lead over two players tied at five under: Justin Lower and 2021 Masters champion Hideki Matsuyama.
As for the pre-tournament betting favorites, World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler signed for a two-under 70, while World No. 2 Rory McIlroy struggled to a one-over 73.
