The 2023 Hero World Challenge kicks off Thursday morning with the opening round at Albany Resort in the Bahamas. Here’s what you need to know to watch Round 1 on TV or online, including Tiger Woods’ first round since April.
Previewing Round 1
The Hero World Challenge is a limited-field, unofficial PGA Tour tournament with little at stake beyond some prize money. But as soon as host Tiger Woods announced he would be joining the field, it instantly turned into must-watch TV.
At 11:52 a.m. ET on Thursday, it will finally happen: Woods will hit his first shot in competition since withdrawing from the Masters due to injury. Woods had a lot on his mind during his pre-tournament press conference, but now attention turns toward the course.
Tiger will play the first round alongside Justin Thomas, and you’ll be able to watch much of their round on TV.
Golf Channel will carry TV coverage for Thursday’s round at the Hero World Challenge beginning at 12:30 p.m. ET. Golf Channel will also show Tiger’s first tee shot just before noon. In addition, Peacock will provide a live simulcast of Golf Channel’s coverage.
