Tiger Woods had you in mind, dearest office worker. Your Friday is now set. No counting down the seconds till the weekend. No, no. Instead, at the earliest possible time, you can count up all of his strokes via whatever manner you watch your broadcast PGA Tour golf.
For the East Coast crowd, Woods starts his second round at the Hero World Challenge at 11:02 a.m. ET, or two minutes after the start of Golf Channel’s Golf Central Pregame show, which promises to show live look-ins of the tournament. Had he shot a few strokes worse than his first-round 75, you might have missed his opening tee shot, as the preceding (and first) tee time of the day is at 10:51. And had he played better, you woulda had to wait more.
What a guy.
Of course, we kid.
Woods was mildly discouraged after his round, though mostly accepting of things, as it was his first play since undergoing a procedure near his ankle in April. He didn’t expect to be completely crisp. But he likely believed he’d be better than eight shots back of leaders Brian Harman and Tony Finau. Afterward on Thursday, he said he knew what he needed to work on.
“I’m sore, there’s no doubt about that,” Woods said. “We’ve got some work to do tonight. I was saying to Todd [Golf Channel’s Todd Lewis], tomorrow get back in the gym and activate and get ready for it. Hopefully hit some better shots. And now I know mentally what I need to do better. I think that’s something that physically I knew I was going to be OK. Mentally, I was really rusty and made a lot of errors in the mind that normally I don’t make.”
Friday, you can see the results. All of them. With no delay.
As noted, live look-in coverage of the Hero World Challenge, via Golf Channel’s Golf Central Pregame, starts at 11 a.m. on Friday. Regular tournament coverage of the Hero starts at 12:30 p.m. on Golf Channel.
