The 2022 Valspar Championship features a surprisingly strong field considering its place on the schedule immediately after the star-studded Players Championship. The World Nos. 2 and 3 are among the betting favorites according to the Valspar Championship odds via BetMGM, but a two-time major champion behind them is worth a look. Here’s what you need to know.

Valspar Championship odds: This week’s favorites

World No. 8 Justin Thomas leads the betting favorites this week with +1000 odds. Two players ranked better than him in the OWGR, No. 2 Collin Morikawa and No. 3 Viktor Hovland, come just behind Thomas in terms of odds-to-win at +1100.

But it’s the player that’s fourth in odds that might be the most intriguing bet. Dustin Johnson, owner of two major championships, comes in at +1400, and while he hasn’t had the strongest start to this season, he is fresh off a course-record-tying 63 in the final round of the Players, earning him a come-from-behind T9 finish. It seems that DJ’s game is rounding into form just in time, and with nine of his 24 PGA Tour wins coming from January to March, he’s due for an early season win.

Looking for an in-between bet? Look no further than Keegan Bradley. Bradley is coming off a fifth-place finish at the Players, and he’s a steal at +5000.

Valspar Championship odds: Long shot of the week

It’s not often a recent Tour winner gets relegated to long-shot status, but Ryan Brehm (+30000) finds himself in that situation right now. The 35-year-old American made news two weeks ago when he put together a clutch performance at the Puerto Rico Open, storming to his first PGA Tour victory when it mattered most, and with his wife Chelsey carrying his bag.

Incredibly, had he not won, Brehm would have lost his PGA Tour status altogether. Instead, he played in his first Players Championship last week, and now he’s back with another chance at victory, minus the pressure. Should you bet $100 on him and he pulls off the win, you’ll earn a cool $30,000.
