This week’s 2022 Valero Texas Open is the final PGA Tour event before the Masters and the beginning of major season. Appropriately, two multiple major winners have the best chances to claim the trophy, according to the Valero Texas Open odds via BetMGM. Here’s what you need to know.

2022 Valero Texas Open odds: This week’s favorites

Despite Masters week lurking just a few days away, several top pros are teeing it up at the Valero Texas Open. Among them is four-time major champion Rory McIlroy, who’s hoping to build some momentum for another shot at the career grand slam next Sunday. At World No. 9, McIlroy is the top-ranked player in the field, and he’s also the clear betting favorite at +800.

Meanwhile, defending champion Jordan Spieth comes in a somewhat distant second place (+1400) due mostly to his struggles in recent weeks. Interestingly, as of this writing the three-time major champ has the exact same odds to win the Masters (+1400).

Another player to keep an eye on is Corey Conners (+1800). The 30-year-old Canadian pro captured his lone PGA Tour victory at the 2019 Texas Open. He’s been haunting leaderboads all year and just last week finished 3rd at the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play.

2022 Valero Texas Open odds: Long shot of the week

Of course the Valero is the last chance for pros to earn a spot in the Masters, either through a victory or by sneaking into the top 50 in the Official World Golf Ranking. One major champion playing this week who doesn’t have a ticket to Augusta yet is Jimmy Walker. The 2016 PGA champion has struggled in recent years, earning him his steep +20000 odds to win this week.

But Walker is no doubt hungry for another shot at major glory, adding extra incentive to his quest this week. Better yet, he’s a former Texas Open champion, having won the 2015 edition beating none other than a young Spieth for his fifth of six career Tour titles. Should you entrust $100 on Walker to win this week and he pulls it off, you’ll find yourself $20,000 richer.
