The third round of the 2022 PGA Championship gets underway Saturday morning at Southern Hills, where all the players who made the cut will begin the 36-hole sprint for the Wanamaker trophy. Round 3 tee times will be determined upon the completion of the second round Friday evening. Once they are released they will be reproduced at the bottom of this post.
Predicting PGA Championship Round 3 tee times
Once the first two rounds are over, the large field of players at this year’s PGA Championship will be chopped down via the cut. Only the top 70 players and ties will survive and earn a Saturday tee time at Southern Hills.
Unfortunately, we won’t know who those players are or when they tee off for the third round until after the final putt drops on Friday night. But we can look into the past to get a good idea of when tee times will land for Round 3.
On Saturday at last year’s PGA Championship at Kiawah Island, the final pairing of Louis Oosthuizen and eventual champion Phil Mickelson teed off for the third round at 2:40 p.m. ET. The first tee time featured only one player, Denny McCarthy, who opened the third-round action at 7:40 a.m. ET.
We can expect third round tee times for this year’s PGA Championship to fall in a similar window, although given that this year’s event is in the Central Time Zone, they may end up being a little later than they were on Saturday in 2021.
ESPN and CBS will split the TV coverage on Saturday, and you can stream all of the third-round action online via ESPN+.
