Shriners Children’s Open Round 2 Preview

Last season was a memorable one for Hideki Matsuyama, who captured his first major championship win at the Masters in April. The rest of the year didn’t go quite as well following his triumph at Augusta, and he eventually finished T26 at the Tour Championship. But early in the 2021-22 season on the PGA Tour, Matsuyama is on the precipice of another hot streak.

Last week Matsuyama started the new season with a Top 10 at the Fortinet Championship, and through one day at the Shriners, the Masters champ is in contention once again. Hideki teed off in the morning on Thursday and recorded seven birdies on his way to an opening-round 65. His six-under total puts him just shy of the lead through 18 holes.

On Friday, Matsuyama will start his second round in the afternoon at 3:13 p.m. ET alongside Viktor Hovland (67) and Adam Scott (70). Check out complete second-round tee times for the 2021 Shriners Children’s Open below.
